Yeh we had to. Take the cable apart. Empty out potato from the camping supplies. Flatten the can and fold over several times. Cut a hole with sharp screwdriver and hammer in folded metal. Poke cale thru hole. Refit cable to clutch.

It was aluminium really. Scirocco's were famous for the steel around the clutch cable breaking and the cable would fall through.
